Work is changing again ...

So after my breakdown last week, work has decided it’s best to move me to another role instead of getting someone to work with me. I can see where they are coming from, they have objectives to meet and need to allocate their resources in the most cost effective and efficient way, but this will be my third job this year, both changes all because of my eye sight.

Don’t they understand how hard it will be to learn a new job? How am I meant to read all of the material to get me up to speed on the new work? I can’t read for more than 10-15 minutes without getting headaches, and I don’t know how to read with the screen-reading software, I will be able to eventually, but I’m still developing my auditory skills. Do they have any idea how hard it is to retain information just from listening? I’m a visual person, I learn by seeing, reading and then writing or highlighting. If I’m meant to have the computer screen off when I’m working then how am I meant to do that?

It took me two months to learn this job and now four months into it they went to take it away.

I can see that they were kind enough to keep me in the same team with my work family, so that is a big win. They are putting in effort trying to make things more suitable for me, but I liked my old job. Change at work will just add to my stress and anxieties in my ever-changing world.

I am at peace with what is...
